Karl McCartney meets new recruits at Hoval’s Lincoln factory

LINCOLN, JULY2011: On a recent visit to the Hoval factory in Beever Street, Lincoln, local MP Karl McCartney was able to meet the latest recruits to the company’s growing workforce. The new staff will be dealing with the manufacture and sale of biomass boilers, a rapidly expanding area for the company.

Hoval Managing Director Adrian Walker commented: “Hoval is the only company manufacturing wood pellet biomass hot water boilers in the UK and this low carbon heating technology is becoming increasingly popular. As a result, we are employing more staff to meet rising demand, which has been further fuelled by the Renewable Heat Incentive.”

Hoval has been manufacturing boilers in the East Midlands since 1887 and operates factories in Lincoln and Newark, employing 120 staff in the UK and 1500 staff globally. The company manufactures biomass, gas and oil boilers as well as solar thermal systems, heat pumps, heat exchangers, warm air heaters and pressure vessels – the latter also being manufactured in Lincoln.

As well as employing skilled workers Hoval operates a strong apprenticeship scheme and many of the company’s senior staff joined the company as apprentices.

During his visit, Mr McCartney also enjoyed a tour of the factory and was able to discuss a number of key issues with Hoval’s senior management. These included the impact of rising fuel costs on local businesses and the anticipated improvements in road links to Lincoln when the A46 dualling is complete.
